Vireo Health Statement

As a physician-founded and physician-led cannabis company, Vireo Health is greatly concerned with the recent wave of vaping-related lung problems. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the affected patients and their families. Vireo is led by a team of doctors, pharmacists, and scientists that are dedicated to protecting our patients’ safety and wellness above all else.

Our medical and science teams are closely monitoring the situation and are in direct contact with state public health officials. We are poised to respond quickly to any concerns related to our patients.

Although investigations continue, early reports indicate that all of the cases of lung diseases are connected to illicit, unlicensed cannabis vaporizers that were not purchased through a state’s medical cannabis program.

Since 2015, Vireo Health has produced nearly 100,000 vaporization cartridges in accordance with state-based regulations and all of our products go through mandatory third-party testing to verify safety and purity. Vireo provides a 24/7 patient monitoring program (the only in the nation) that tracks our patients’ side effects closely and takes action quickly when, and if, required.

Fortunately, to date, no patient using a Vireo product has been affected by this new threat.

All of Vireo’s cannabis products – including our Vaporizers – are cultivated, processed, and third-party tested per state regulation. This assures they do not contain any contaminants like mold, pesticides, and heavy metals that are associated with the emerging health risks.

While we also manufacture other products, like capsules and oral solutions, vaporization and inhalation are currently the most accessible delivery methods to provide nearly instant relief especially for patients struggling with intractable pain.

If your patients have any questions or concerns, they can email [email protected]. They are experiencing any adverse effects from a Vireo product, please contact our Safety Call hotline.

Grassroots Cannabis Statement

At Grassroots Cannabis, we care deeply about our plants, products and the people we serve and we are concerned about the recent news reports on vape products and their connection to respiratory health issues. We would like to address any concerns our customers and patients may have about our vape products.

Grassroots does not use Vitamin E Acetate in any of our products, not do we use polyethylene glycol (PEG), propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG) or any medium chain triglycerides (MCT) as cutting agents in any of our vape products. To date, grassroots has not received any reports of respiratory health issues caused by the use of any of our products.

Grassroots is committed to delivering safe and high-quality products to our customers. Operating in some of the most highly regulated cannabis programs in the country, we ensure our vape products are third-party tested by state-approved laboratories and our cartridges meet the regulations set forth by each state where we grow, produce, and sell our products. We continue to be compliant with the regulations and are dedicated to ensuring customer safety.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions, and share this with anyone who may be concerned about our vape products.

At Grassroots, we are committed to serving, advancing, and respecting the cannabis movement. Thank you for continuing to inspire us to Lie Deeply.

Acreage Holdings Statement

The health and safety of the public are the top priorities of Acreage Holdings. Our company’s mission is centered on helping people experience the many benefits cannabis can deliver as part of a healthy lifestyle. That is why we share the public’s concern in the wake of recently reported incidents of vaping related complications and are continuing to monitor the situation closely and gather information as a clearer picture of the facts emerge.

While more research is necessary to fully understand the relationship between andy specific products or substances and the illnesses, it appears that the issue most likely stems from one or more substances that have been added to illegally produced and distributed vape cartridges. These illicit market products do not undergo the same stringent regime of third party laboratory testing for contaminants to which manufacturers of legal cannabis products, such as Acreage, must adhere in order to ensure their compliance with state regulations.

We can assure our customers and patients that no Acreage-produced vape products contain Vitamin E Acetate, or any other ingredient currently being reported as a possible cause of the recent wave of illnesses. Acreage remains committed to the highest standards of patient and customer care and is undertaking supplemental measures at our dispensaries to educate and inform consumers.

Terrapin PA Statement

Our vaporization cartridges are always 100% cannabis-derived. No cutting agents, no additives, no Vitamin E. Just cannabis distillate, and cannabis-derived terpenes. Our carts come in a variety of strain-specific and terpene blends.

Prime Wellness of PA Statement

Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania’s vape products have always been 100% cannabis-derived. We have never used additives or cutting agents in any of our vape products. We will continue to be fully committed to complying with all Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations to ensure that we produce the safest and highest quality medical marijuana products for patients and caregivers across the Commonwealth.

Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions or comments.
